Barty Johnson Field, Levelland City Park

The eighth annual Texas’ Last Frontier Heritage Celebration and Texas Buffalo Soldier Encampment, sponsored by the Cochran County Historical Commission and Texas’ Last Frontier Museum in Morton, will host a vintage baseball game on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at Barty Johnson Field in the Levelland City Park. Members of the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife and Fort Concho Buffalo Soldier Regiments will be pitted against a hand-picked team of “I Beat Pete” competitors led by KCBD-TV, Channel 11-Lubbock, Sports Director, Pete Christy. Admission to the game is free. Refreshments will be available for purchase from the Levelland Little League.
