The topic of why “equity is still an issue” for women in the 21st century will be discussed by Ms. Carroll Akard, president of the Lubbock Betty Anderson Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), at the annual member recruitment Brunch meeting on May 1. All university-educated women are cordially invited to attend the event which begins at 10 a.m. at the home of Nadine Wink. AAUW is an international organization founded 130 years ago to promote the advancement of women and girls in education and equity.
