My Fair Lady

Hailed by the Daily Mail as "the revival against which all others will be measured", and the Daily Telegraph as "probably the greatest musical of all time" Cameron Mackintosh and the National Theatre's landmark production of Lerner & Loewe's "MY FAIR LADY" has now completed its 12 city UK tour. It is now preparing to open in North America in fall 2007.

"MY FAIR LADY" originally opened at the Lyttelton Theatre in March 2001, before it transferred to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in July 2000 where it ran for two years. The production went on to win a total of five Laurence Olivier Awards, including 'Outstanding Musical Production' and 'Best Theatre Choreographer', Matthew Bourne and in 2002 it also received The Hilton Award for Outstanding Musical Production.

Cameron Mackintosh said "MY FAIR LADY has always had a special place in my heart ever since I saw Julie Andrews and Rex Harrison in the original Drury Lane production when I was 13. It inspired me to produce two hugely successful new productions of my own. The first in 1979, directed by Alan J Lerner himself, and the recent triumphant reinvention by Trevor Nunn, Matthew Bourne and Anthony Ward, which broke box office records at Drury Lane. In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the show's creation in 1956, I am delighted to bring a wonderful new cast to thrill new audiences and old friends with its brilliant, witty and timeless score and even more timely story of a girl from the gutter being given the chance to prove that she's naturally the fairest lady of them all – Pop Idol eat your heart out!"

"MY FAIR LADY" has book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe and is adapted from Bernard Shaw's play "Pygmalion" and Gabriel Pascal's motion picture.

"MY FAIR LADY" is directed by Trevor Nunn and has choreography and musical staging by Matthew Bourne, with sets and costumes designed by Anthony Ward and lighting by David Hersey.
